USAU College Season - Game 3

Our regular season continued tonight as the A team faced off against Messiah. In the first official competition match up since the heated universe point win at Sectionals, we knew going in that Messiah was going to bring everything they had to this game. For the first time at Winter League they were bringing all of their main starters and had their sights on taking us out. Thankfully we had other ideas and wanted to avoid another hard fought game by playing all out on both sides of the disc. We started out on offense and had a quick deep break after working it up field for a few throws. Our defense took the field and never looked back, rattling off 3 straight points without even turning the disc over. We kept up the momentum by playing hard pressure defense and forcing early turns, allowing us to take a 9-1 halftime lead. We let up slightly in the second half but still maintained control. With a final score of 17-4 we were able to maintain our perfect record heading into next weeks winter league finals and our first tournament of the year.
